FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do LUXUN soaps have the natural pH of water?

No, they don't. Soap and soap is an alkaline substance by definition. I would have to add a lot of chemicals to make pH7, I do not.

Why are LUXUN soaps so high priced?

The most important reasons are the top quality ingredients I use, the production of each soap individually handmade in accordance with the highest level of hygiene conditions, hygienic careful packaging. Due to the rich content I offer you, I can state that my soaps are not particularly high priced. I certainly do not charge a high price just for my brand.

Are not all handmade soaps the same?

No, they are not. Unless you are of the opinion that all chocolates are the same, that there is no difference between your favourite food and the one your mother made. There can be a world of difference between luxun soaps and other soaps described as natural, handmade, aromatherapy.

I make my LUXUN soaps with the best ingredients we can find... not cheap but it makes a difference... That's why the aromatherapy fixed and essential oils I use are literally good enough to eat... Don't eat my soap though! Once the ingredients have been "saponified" or "turned into soap" they are definitely not edible.

I use the 'cold process' method to produce my LUXUN soaps, which means that they are not boiled for hours (hot process soap). However, I have gone one step further and developed my own 'extra cold' technique, which I believe allows me to minimise my heat usage and create soaps that are richer in nutrients.

LUXUN soaps make a difference... After all, this is a product that you buy and you have to put on your body.

My LUXUN formulation and application is also unrivalled.

Are LUXUN soaps good for eczema / dandruff?

Soaps are not allowed to be promoted as having curative or medicinal properties unless they are actually considered medicines and have been tested and certified as such. So short answer, I can't comment. But I have had regular users who have stated that the soap helps with problem skin. This may be due to the effect of the natural ingredients in the formulations of my cold process soaps... Can I wash my hair with LUXUN soaps?

Yes, you can. It is important to note that no matter which product you use to wash your hair, an apple cider vinegar-based rinse can help revitalise your hair and scalp. While it's true that these rinses are especially beneficial for those who are new to washing their hair with soap, an apple cider vinegar hair rinse is a great addition to any hair care regime. Packed with nutrients, apple cider vinegar gives hair shine, can reduce and clarify build-up, stimulate the scalp, reduce dandruff and open hair follicles which can help with excessive shedding or hair. Vinegar is very strong and can dry the hair a lot, so it may be advisable to mix 1/2 to 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 230 ml of water. Experiment to find the best dilution for your hair type (for example dry hair likes less vinegar water and oily hair likes more vinegar water).

Do LUXUN soaps comply with cosmetic regulations?

Yes, we have certificates! I am proud of the fact that my handmade soaps fully comply with all national and European regulations for the production of cosmetics, and my soaps have been dermatologically tested at my request by an accredited independent laboratory. My soap labelling uses the appropriate latin-style INCI naming standards for ingredients. My weighing is carried out on scales approved to commercial standards.

LUXUN soaps look very good to use

It seems that some people buy LUXUN soaps to make their bathroom smell nice and to put in their drawers with their clothes. I understand that soap loses moisture and hardens over time and that it is a way to keep your clothes smelling nice in drawers, but I want you to use LUXUN soaps for what they are made for.

The exquisite fragrances are special blends of aromatherapy fixed and essential oils. The rich, creamy lather leaves your skin soft and fragrant. Our busy lives can leave us stressed and tense - a relaxing bath or shower releases the aromatherapy oils in our soaps, which can prepare our soul and body for a new day.

How long do LUXUN soaps last?

Some of our users say that they have been using my soaps for months. It actually depends on how you use your soaps. To make your soap last longer:

Use a soap dish with good drainage - handmade soap is rich in natural glycerine, which is very good for your skin, but doesn't like to sit in a puddle.
Try to keep your soap dry between uses.
Make sure that the soap does not stay under the shower tray.

Does LUXUN soaps contain palm oil?

Quite simply, No. However, since I don't prefer to use palm oil, I used cocoa butter instead. cocoa butter is a higher priced oil and provides softness to the skin along with a great lather.

Do LUXUN soaps contain caustic soda?

Technically, no. However, caustic soda is used in the manufacture of all soaps. Simply, soap is made by combining vegetable or animal fats (fatty acid) with a strong alkali (base), this produces a chemical reaction called saponification. The base needs to be strong as it must break the bonds of the fatty acids in order for them to react with the base. Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is used as the base and must be in solution. Fatty acids have their own unique profile and when mixed with NaOH, the bonds of the fatty acid are broken and combine with the hydroxide to form saponified fats and glycerin as a by-product, i.e. soap. This is an exothermic reaction and a large amount of heat is generated during the process. The glycerin is left in the soap, which contributes to the softening of the handmade soap. To formulate a good soap, a correct calculation of oil and caustic must be made.

Do LUXUN soaps burn the eyes?

Like all real soaps, my soap burns the eyes. Care should be taken not to get it in the eyes.

What do you use to make LUXUN soaps smell good?

LUXUN® uses only essential oils in its soaps. Essential oils are pure plant extracts - small oil molecules vaporised from the raw plant material.

Will LUXUN soaps melt if stored at high temperatures?

No, the soap is stable and does not melt; however, if left in sunlight for a long time, the fragrance can at least dissipate on the surface. After use, the soap usually leaves its fragrance.

Are there any common sense precautions?

As with any product that touches your skin, please discontinue use if irritation develops. Any product can irritate some sensitive individuals, even when made with the most natural, gentle ingredients.
